On Monday, GTV did a mock live broadcast. Or as Mike called it, a unaired live broadcast, in order to unconfuse Gilly who thought we weren't there when it was filmed, or not filmed. I don't even know what her point was. I know what a mock live broadcast is and she managed to confuse me. It was decided that in the first hour we would plan it and the second hour would be filming. As with all great plans, it didn't work out that way. It took longer than we thought to sort out the technical stuff and to actually plan the structure and rough script for the show. Once BBC John and Mike had sorted out the cameras, talkback and all the other things needed to work for an actual live broadcast, we assigned ourselves to equipment. Kirst was on the vision mixer, I was on the sound desk, presenters who weren't on screen were behind the cameras and Mike got made director. Once we got started, it was a lot of fun, it worked really well for a first effort and I got to play with faders, which I love so it was all good. Plus talkback is a lot of fun. After finishing way behind schedule, we rushed to Gilly's via the chippy. Then I discovered to my delight, that Gilly had jelly dinosaurs, which amused me* for a long time until they got finished. After that, Gilly's party heralded one of my new favourite pictures:
