Because everyone needs a blog, apparently. Personally I think everyone needs a pair of Converses.

And the four right chords can make me cry

So can words. Dancing on the page, recreating memories. Words that together make up a new situation created from an already existing event. I have just finished reading Corinne's play. The four right chords can make me cry; afterall, it is ultimately about the music. I think in the past few years I've learnt the importance of music in my life. A song that may only use three chords but can make you cry all the same, a song that can bring back so many memories with just the opening bars. But* it's also all about the memories of the paddling pool [and the bow and arrow], the road trips, the banners, the trainers, the plectrums and drumsticks and the fake snow in the form of washing up liquid. The fake snow that contributed to me meeting some amazing people who I love to bits** and I know that without them, the journey wouldn't have been quite so much fun...though we may have been able to get round the Hemel Hempstead roundabout without quite as much yelling. Above all, Corinne's play made me realise that I did all those things because I believed, and ultimately I still do; I've just finally reached a point, which means I don't have to run around the country or indeed up North, dealing with the public transport system to show this. I know I will always have the memories, and whether a slight mention in a play triggers me to think of them or a song or whatever, I will always treasure them and if I had the chance to go back, you know damn well I'd do it all again in an instant.

*Yes, I know, never start a sentence with 'but', as an English student you should know that etc.
**Not least because they help me with my essays and Will seminar.
